How to Store Research Peptides: Powder, Reconstituted and Shipping
Final Touch Wellness · October 21, 2026
Temperature, light and moisture all degrade peptides. Learn how to store lyophilized and reconstituted vials to protect stability.
Peptides are chains of amino acids, and they break down through moisture, heat, light and oxidation. Good storage protects your research.
Lyophilized (powder) vials
- Freeze-dried peptides are the most stable form.
- For long-term storage, many labs keep them frozen at about −20 °C.
- For shorter periods, refrigeration at 2–8 °C is common.
- Keep vials sealed, dry and away from light. Let a cold vial reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation.
Reconstituted vials
- Once in solution, peptides degrade faster.
- Store refrigerated at 2–8 °C and protect from light.
- Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles, which can break down peptide structure.
- Using bacteriostatic water helps limit microbial growth for multi-use vials.
During shipping
Lyophilized peptides tolerate short transit well, but heat is still the enemy. We pack every order with insulated, cold-chain packaging and tracked dispatch from Boise.
Single vial or 10-pack?
If your work only needs one vial, buy one — that way no stock sits in storage longer than necessary. For ongoing projects, a sealed 10-vial kit lowers the per-vial price while keeping unopened vials in their most stable form.
